These are the people behind the scenes at CrossFit Amped
Owner | coach
I’m from Portland, Maine born and raised. Went to Springfield College in western Massachusetts and got my Bachelors in Science in Exercise Science and have my CrossFit Level One, CrossFit Football, and CrossFit Kids Certification.
I moved up to Seattle right after I graduated because I heard it was a great place to live, and two years later, I owned a CrossFit gym and am a part of the greatest community of people that I could ever possibly imagine.
I love CrossFit workouts. They’re much better and different than anything I’ve ever done before. Having constantly varying workouts means never getting used to doing the same thing over and over. And having a group of people that always push and encourage you to do new things is by far better than any workout or exercise program I’ve ever been a part of.
I’ve played sports my whole life and CrossFit has made me a better athlete, even now, in my later years. If I had it earlier in my life, I would have been twice the athlete.
manager | coach
Fitness is my jam and CrossFit is my passion! I love CrossFit because it has created a community that focuses on helping people of all ages live healthier and more active lives.
One of my favorite things as a coach is being able to make positive impacts on each member’s health and fitness. As a coach, I am caring, energetic, and loud at times. I aim to make each class fun, competitive, and I hope that each athlete comes back stronger and more confident than the last time.
Outside of CrossFit I love to eat, travel, hike, snowboard, and hang out with friends and family.
I grew up in New Orleans where I attended St. Martin’s Episcopal School. Here i was a three sport athlete, lettering all four years and earning multiple All-District and All-State honors in Football, Soccer and Track. I went on to play Soccer for four years at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.
After I graduated in 2010 I stayed with the school and worked with the soccer team as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. I began my career as a trainer and coach when I moved back to New Orleans in December of 2010 where I started doing CrossFit. Now I hold my L1 and L2 certifications and want to continue to influence people with the same challenges and success that I have seen with adding CrossFit to my life!
Coach Aaron lives with his wife and two dogs and hopes to continue his training passion by implementing the CrossFit method to improve Strength and Conditioning with High School kids and Collegiate athletes.
I started my CrossFit journey in 2008, having arrived here by way of a road of years in the martial arts (Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Ba Gua, and Capoeira), and the intense desire to not get fat. The emphasis on technique and form before intensity, and the supportive yet challenging nature of the group classes, and beginning nutritional knowledge drew me in.
One day, while helping another member work on pull-ups, she exclaimed how that was the first one she had ever done in her 63 years on this earth, and she was floored and ecstatic. It was a life changing event I was witnessing, which in turn changed my life. I became motivated to become a coach and help more people make dramatic positive changes in their lives. I began coaching in 2010, which lead me to take a CrossFit Gymnastics seminar, which got me hooked on the movements and strength of gymnastics. I began to practice on my own, and took classes at a circus school to learn even more.
In 2014 I was accepted as a coach for the CrossFit Gymnastics Seminars, which is one of those great jobs that just feeds your passion. I work hard to bring that knowledge to my everyday coaching, and always coach like I would want to be coached. Which means I will ALWAYS be on your case about better body position, safer movement, and correct technique. Speed is one side effect of excellent technique. Fitness is another.
Fitness has always been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember! I have been doing CrossFit since the Summer of 2011, while I was deployed in South Iraq. I’ve been doing it consistently ever since! I started coaching in 2014 and couldn’t picture myself doing anything else. I always told myself, “if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.”
CrossFit has changed everything about my life. Not only my fitness, but as well as the friends I have made. The community is the best part about CrossFit!
Outside of the gym I like to hangout with my soon to be wife, listen to good music, get a good burger, and watch/go to sporting events.

Code of Conduct
Here at CrossFit Amped, we make it our priority to ensure we provide a fun and safe environment for you. To help facilitate this, we have put together a list of rules to keep in mind as you come to get your sweat on!
Check-In: Arrive 5 minutes early and check yourself in. This will help prevent any delays and keep classes running on time.
Be Polite and courteous: All members, clients, and guests must follow direction from all staff of CrossFit Amped at all times.
Positivity: Always bring your best attitude into the gym! We promote gym-wide positivity and encouragement.
Clean Up After Yourself: It is required to wipe up your sweat and clear equipment after you have finished your workout to ensure a safe and organized environment for others.
Kids: We love kids here at CrossFit Amped and think it’s important for them to see their parents leading a healthy and active lifestyle. Parents or guardians, please make sure your kids stay off the workout floor during classes to ensure their safety.
Pets: At CrossFit Amped we welcome your pets. we would love to meet your pups! Many of our members (and Coaches) bring their dogs to the gym during their workouts. We just ask that you tie up your furry kiddo either outside or in the lobby. Our gym is busy and equipment is constantly being used. For both the dog and human’s safety, we can’t have them running around. Additionally, the doggie hair problem is real, and no one wants to do burpees in a pile of it.
Be Patient: Accidents & injuries usually come as a result of impatience or lack of attention. Slow down. Mechanics, Consistency, Intensity. Ask questions.
Have Fun: Yes, you’re going to work harder than you thought possible. Yes, it’ll hurt. So what? Have fun with it. CrossFit Amped is your gym and while we’re constantly increasing your fitness, we’re having a blast at the same time. Agony and laughter… who knew they were so compatible?
Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions.
A: WOD stands for “Workout of the Day.” Each day the workout will be completely different than the day before. Before you start the WOD, your coach will go over all of the movements and discuss the way the workout will work- For Time, AMRAP (As Many Rounds as Possible), etc.
A: If you’re new to CrossFit its a good idea to start off small and grow as your body gets used to the workload. It also depends on your fitness level, but its always better not to bite off more than you can chew!
A: Always bring a comfortable pair of sneakers (the flatter the better), a water bottle, and a towel if you’d like. Comfortable clothing that you can move around in freely is advised. Other than that, a good attitude and willingness to try something new and challenging.
A: The recommended weight is anything that you can control with good form and feel comfortable using. The prescription for the day is simply a challenge set by the coach but is by no means a requirement.
A: “Big” is obviously relative, but a massive growth in muscle requires more work than just starting a new exercise routine. Your body will certainly change, but nothing drastic. All physical changes take time with the human body and its easy to pick up on it and alter anything that is proving to be unfavorable. Coaches at Amped can help you with any goals you have towards body composition.
A: If you’ve never done CrossFit you can expect a format of training that you probably have never done before. Some days are longer, some are shorter. Some are heavy, and some are light. Its always different. Constants at Amped are an encouraging environment, supportive family and challenging workout! Those who have never done CrossFit are usually required to take our beginner class to help them learn how to do the movements that we use weekly. An individual may “test out” if they have a strong weight lifting background but must be approved by one of our coaches first.
A: Depending on your abilities you can “test out” with a coach to determine one’s cognition and application of the movements we do in CrossFit classes.
A: Depending on the injury and your doctor’s recommendation it is almost always possible to exercise while injured. Our coaches are experts at modifying workouts and catering them to someones personal needs. At Amped there is a large amount of space and equipment providing an opportunity for all individuals, regardless of injury or drawback, to perform the workout of the day.
A: Children are always welcome at Amped. We have an area for children to play, watch movies, play XBOX Kinect or sit and read. We also have a discount program with AKP (Adventure Kids Playcare) on the adjacent corner of our city block. Many parents use their services during their hour long workout.
A: If you are a guest at Amped you might as well get used to being part of the family! If you come in and try CrossFit, you’re one of us. If you CrossFit elsewhere but drop in, you’re one of us. That’s just how it is as Amped. We thrive on energy and always love newcomers, so don’t be shy!
